Implementation Statement

Teaching is designed to embed our Christian Virtues into the life and work of our school so that every child experiences the diversity of ‘life in all its fullness’.

We work to ensure that our learners remember in the long term the content they have been taught and learn to integrate new knowledge into larger concepts.

A rigorous teaching approach develops learners’ confidence as communicators and nurtures their love of reading. At the early stages of learning to read, engaging delivery builds on prior knowledge through active learning and embeds this through daily application. Reading materials are closely matched to learners’ current phonics knowledge.

Subject matter is presented clearly, promoting appropriate discussion about the subject matter being taught. Teachers check learner’s understanding systematically, identify misconceptions accurately and provide clear, direct feedback, adapting teaching as necessary to meet need.
