Sport Premium Allocation

The DFE states that all children should live healthy active lives. It is recommended that all children should take part in moderate to vigorous intensity physical activity for at least 60 minutes every day. Children with special educational needs and disabilities should take part in 20 minutes of daily activity.

Primary Schools have a key role to achieve this aim. All children should have equal access to high-quality PE provision and opportunities to experience and participate in a wide range of sports and physical activities. Academic achievement can improve in school because of the benefits children can gain.

We use the PE and sport premium funding to help achieve these aims. It is not used for core-type school activities. It is used to make additional and sustainable improvements to the PE, sport and physical activity provided, including quality PE lessons and extracurricular opportunities with equal access for all genders.

We prioritise spending to improve staff’s confidence, knowledge and skills in teaching PE and sport, to increase pupil engagement and to raise the profile of sport across the school. Pupils subsequently benefit from broader experiences and should participate more in competitive sport.

At Ticehurst and Flimwell CofE Primary School we recognise the value of sports and physical activity in ensuring that children lead active, healthy and happy lives.
